"Mele Kalikimaka"就是夏威夷語的"Merry Christmas"，好奇怪，為什麼今天要說聖誕快樂呢？東正教的聖誕節是定在1月6日或7日的，而12月25日至1月6日這12天在西方稱為聖誕期，有一首叫Twelve Days of Christmas的聖誕歌就是講一個在聖誕期間送禮物的故事。

有人說夏威夷是一個彩虹國度，我覺得它跟琉球(日本稱為沖繩)很相似。兩者都曾經是獨立王國，後來卻分別成了美國和日本的屬土。兩者都風光宜人，是旅遊勝地，二次大戰時都有過一段光輝(慘痛？)的歷史(我有親戚就看過夏威夷那艘亞利桑那號遺跡)。最重要的一點，兩處我都沒到過！

據說，當夏威夷王國快要亡國變成美國屬土的時候，夏威夷的王族曾經給這塊土地發了一個詛咒。要是有人拿走了夏威夷的沙石草木，那人就會很不吉利甚至死亡。結果，政府要在沙灘豎起告示，不准人們拿走沙灘的沙。結果很多人都要把沙寄回夏威夷旅遊局，以免有不祥之兆。
